Handmade Dutch Design Jewelry

Bjørke Slaghek (1972). When I was a little girl I was already fond of crafts. My grandmother teached me a lot of tricks. 6 years ago I discovered that vintage buttons are very decorative and that you can make such nice things with them. I started to make jewelry of them. My first necklace was in fact a long string of old buttons that you could hang around your neck. I made them for family and friends as a memory necklace. (Mostly from buttons that they found in grandmother's home). But now I design and make a wide range of jewelry. Preferably finished with vintage buttons. Every single item is handmade by myself and the collection changes together with the season.

I also run a busy family with 3 kids, a dog and lovely husband who travels all over the world (and brings nice materials for my jewelry).

I love the scandinavian countries and their functional designs. It gives me much inspiration when I go there. Our home and my jewelry reflects my passion for the Scandinavian countries.
